Beaches


If you are a beach lover, here's a quick guide to help you decide which resort is right for you. Some have beaches right on the doorstep and others have them within easy reach. The good news is you're never that far from the gently lapping of waves on Mediterranean shores in any of our resorts.

 

Turkey - Kalkan

Image Kalkan boasts a number of beach clubs where work on your tan, have a spot of lunch, or make use of the watersports. There's a shingle beach in the harbour and more beaches a short distance by car or local bus, including Kapitas and the beautiful beach of Patara.

Turkey - Orhaniye

Image Orhaniye is a sleepy village on a long bay that forms its own harbour. The Dogan, our featured property here has a beachfront setting, so you need to do nothing but fall out of bed onto a sunlounger to enjoy the sandy delights of this traditional hamlet.

Greece - Agios Nikolaos

Image Agios Nikolaos is a fashionable and sophisticated Cretan town built around a small lake. Our properties have direct access to picturesque sandy beaches or overlook them, so you are never far from a nearby stretch of sand.

Greece - Elounda

Image Elounda features some of the most exclusive hotels in Crete. The beach here is sandy and there are plenty of watersports available for the energetic. The nearby quiet hamlet of Plaka has plenty of small, uncrowded beaches as well.

Greece - Rethmynon

Image Rethmynon has a beach right at its heart, so even though you are staying in a town, you'll have the beach on your doorstep. It has a sleepy air about it even with a lively social scene around the harbour. Sandy and pebble beaches abound if you fancy getting out to explore.

Greece - Istron

Image Istron is reputed to have two of the most beautiful beaches in Crete as well as being a low key village ideal for a peaceful, unhurried holiday. There's also a qualified diving instructor based at the Istron Bay hotel, so it's the perfect choice for budding scuba divers.

Turkey - Islamar

Image Islamlar benefits from its proximity to Kalkan, allowing the option of a peaceful mountain holiday, but with beaches and livelier restaurants nearby. A little further afield is the beautiful Patara beach, 18km of soft sandy beach. Patara was recently voted 'best beach in the world' in a Sunday Times survey.

Turkey - Kas

Image Kas is a harbour town where you can plunge straight into the sea from swimming platforms carved into rock outcrops. If you are looking for a beach, take the bus to small coves outside the village or to the dramatic Kapitus beach.

Turkey - Kaya Valley

Image The Kaya Valley with its 'ghost village' is a wonderfully peaceful location for a holiday, yet it's only a 20 minute drive from Turkey's most famous beach - the sandy lagoon of Olu Deniz. If you prefer smaller coves, then Gemiler beach is just 10 minutes on the other side of the Valley.

Kefalonia - Fiscardo

Image Fiscardo is home to a beautiful harbour and small shingle beach, but hire a boat and you can find lots of small private coves not far away.
