Istron Bay comes highly recommended, if its local name of ‘Refuge of the Gods’ is to be believed. With two of the most beautiful beaches in the region, this quiet little village is an idyllic location for a peaceful and restful holiday.
There are only a couple of shops and a sprinkling of cafés, bars and tavernas to distract you from the fabulous views. Should you tire of this total escape from urban life, you can take the local bus services to the towns of Agios Nikolaos or Sita for a touch of shopping or nightlife.
One of Istron’s more unusual facilities for a small village is a qualified diving instructor based at the Istron Hotel, so curiously it’s the perfect location for budding scuba divers.
