The George Molfetas Hotel, a luxury boutique hotel catering to adults only, has an authentic 1895 setting. George Molfetas was a satirical poet, who during the 19th century published a weekly newspaper describing life in Kefalonia. He was also a musician and a keen traveller - these themes are represented throughout the hotel.
Inspired by her great uncle, Katerina Molfeta decided to build this special sanctuary comprising 6 very individual rooms. The authentic antique furniture, lace, books, paintings and numerous objects of art, make guests feel as if they have travelled back in time.
The hotel is set in the idyllic village of Faraklata where guests can truly experience traditional Greek life. It must be emphasised that this property is suitable only for those guests who want to embrace a genuine non-commercial holiday.
Although an authentic property, it still allows for luxury as the rooms are fully appointed with modern appliances and guests are treated to excellent 24hour service. Breakfast is included and freshly prepared on order by the guests, at their leisure.
This hotel is extremely special and serves as a base for exploring the island. On return on hot afternoons, guests can cool down in the jacuzzi overlooking the picturesque village. In the evenings guests can choose to dine at the on-site Posada restaurant, which has a fantastic reputation with the locals for serving delicious organic home cooked food.
This is an ideal getaway for guests wanting solitude and relaxation.
