KEFALONIA 

The reasons why we chose Kefalonia for our first Greek programme are still as valid today as they were then: gorgeous harbour villages, Venetian style architecture, the attractively restored capital Argostoli, quiet beaches and a surprisingly varied landscape – all combine to make the island a firm favourite with many guests of the Tapestry Collection. 

FISCARDO

The arriving yachts give the village an animated atmosphere that might have been lacking given the limited number of people who actually stay in Fiscardo. Although it is worth bearing in mind that the area does become very busy in August, when many Italians sensibly choose to take their annual holiday in Fiscardo. There is a small beach to one side of the village and a short walk takes you to the lighthouse, which is a great place to relax and swim.

Venetian-style buildings painted in pastel colours line the waterfront, with tables, chairs and umbrellas of the many restaurants in front. In response to the numerous yachts that harbour here, the restaurant menus are rather more sophisticated than one might expect – and there are even a couple of cocktail bars for those who would like a pre or post-dinner drink.
