Our rep was there to meet us on arrival with our car and from that moment on everything was perfect. We loved the Carob Tree Villas, they were absolutely idyllic. Whilst the Pleiades Villas were not quite as fabulous (the road was quite an eyesore!), as we were only there for one night they were still very lovely. Also we would love to mention how wonderful the villas manager Nikos was - he made everything run incredibly smoothly and if we needed anything he was there immediately. My wife and I returned on September 29th from a most pleasant holiday at Kalkan. We were at the Yali Hotel for two weeks and we found the manageress - "Ozzie" - and her staff to be most friendly and helpful.

However we wish to record our particular praise for the two Tapestry staff whom we met i.e. ZeZe and Sue. ZeZe was most helpful and answered our quick-fire of questions very nicely and with charm. She was dealing with all the additional problems caused by the sudden bankruptcy of XL Airways and she handled them with aplomb.

Sue is the highlight of the "Lazy Day at Sea". It was great to see her swim to a rock to fix the mooring rope; and her very friendly and helpful nature ensured the enjoyment of everyone on board.

Please let Zeze and Sue know how much their efforts are appreciated.

"I would like to express my thanks for a perfect holiday. The St. Nicholas Bay Hotel at Agios Nikolaos was a welcome sight after flying with Easy Jet - the only downside to the holiday - we encountered excellent service and courtesy from everyone as soon as entered the premises.
The rooms were stylishly decorated with fresh flowers, renewed during our stay, and the Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries were a joy. The view over the pool to the sea from the balcony was just picture perfect.

We experimented with all three restaurants and found each one excellent, the chef and the head waiter in each colluding to amend the menu and provide exciting dishes for that rare diner - a vegetarian.

Neither my husband nor myself tried the treatments on offer at the spa, but as we are returning next year will be sure to investigate all appropriate treatments.

We have travelled with Tapestry many, many times and have never been disappointed, but this holiday is a gem, and incidentally so is your resort representative Barbara. Full of good common sense advice and very efficient."

"From the moment we started our enquiries about possibly going to Turkey I felt Tapestry was a company who genuinely wanted to find the best possible package that was going to suit us and who would spend as much time as needed until a satisfactory solution was found. I felt very quickly that I was dealing with a ‘friend' who would not want to let me down by overselling any part of the holiday and in fact who would be very honest if there was any downside to any part of the experience. There were also some very generous extras thrown in as icing on the cake. Even when we dithered over certain options and changed our minds and schedules nothing was too much trouble.

The secret then is to transform the promise into reality and I have to say the entire holiday was perfect. We had quite a complicated schedule having elected to go to Istanbul on the way to Kalkan our holiday destination and it was all incredibly effortless with transfers to and from the airports perfectly on time in air conditioned comfort with charming drivers.

Istanbul is magic. We stayed in The Ciragan Palace in Istanbul on the Bosphorous and despite some reviews on Trip advisor to the contrary, this was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in; we have been to great hotels all over the world. The rooms were spacious and grand, the pool was incredible, the service faultless, the breakfast is out of this world and this has to be one of best view from a dining table anywhere, looking out across the Bosphorous. A great experience and we had a guide Attila who took us out on the Sunday who was so interesting and well informed that he brought the entire history of Turkey and Istanbul to life; even our kids were hooked.

Then on to the Asfyia Hotel in Kalkan. After the Ciragan anything could have been a let down but we were more than pleased. Over the two weeks, we stayed in two different rooms, the ‘owners apartment', which was generously proportioned with a roof terrace and a view to die for, and then one of the new deluxe suites which are enormous with a great Jacuzzi bath and the use of your own little swimming pool. The main pool is great and serves as a central meeting point where you can have a drink and meet other guests. The breakfast is good and the staff are genuinely friendly and helpful.

The trips that Tapestry organise, and we did several, are well organised and super fun with the right amount of information everywhere you go. We particularly enjoyed the lazy day on the Gulet (traditional Turkish boat) which was fantastic; our highlight was catching a very large squid egged on and helped by the eccentric skipper Ali.

Kalkan itself is a sweet little town with so many restaurants that you are spoiled for choice. Our favourites were The Aubergine and all the Korsan restaurants; The Fish Terrace, the Kebab, and the Mezze. However, there are so many more which we would have liked to have tried but time did not allow. The local people are lovely and helpful and the shops are stocked with very good quality goods; certainly my wife and daughter would agree with this judging by the amount of times when Luke and I sat waiting in restaurants for them to turn up late again armed with yet more bags.

All in all it was a wonderful family holiday (miraculously no complaints from 13yr old Luke and none from Ellie aged 16). It all went without a single hitch and if we had to find a single criticism it would be that there wasn't fresh coffee for breakfast; small price to pay for a completely trouble free magic holiday. Well done Tapestry. "
