The Kas Peninsula is a wonderful setting for a holiday: the views across the blue sea to the Greek island of Meis are spectacular and the land slopes down to the rocky coastline where swimming platforms let you plunge straight into the water.
Kas is perhaps a little like the 'big brother' of Kalkan. Like Kalkan, it has an attractive harbour and winding cobbled streets climbing a hillside.
The town still has a slightly bohemian feel, attracting a range of visitors of different nationalities and ages. The shopping is varied and the choice of restaurants and bars is good.
The town has two beaches, Big Pebble Beach and Little Pebble Beach. More beaches may be visited by taking one of the water-taxis from the harbour to the other side of the bay (about fifteen minutes each way). The dramatically positioned sandy gorge of Kaputas is about twenty minutes away using the local bus (dolmus) service (there are a number of steps to reach it).
Kas and the Kas Peninsula offer a great combination of a pretty harbour town, a waterside property, stunning scenery and fascinating history.
