Each of the twelve sumptuous bedrooms have beautiful arched stone ceilings, ornate fireplaces and are elaborately decorated with richly coloured fabrics, antique furnishings and soft lighting. The Sacred House is a gorgeous romantic retreat.
The lobby, roof terrace and restaurant are equally inviting. A sunset aperitif on the terrace overlooking the pretty town of Urgup after a long day exploring is a splendid way to relax, followed by a meal in the beautiful restaurant. With its distinctly medieval atmosphere and a delicious menu of Greek, Armenian and traditional Turkish dishes, dining here is a truly unforgettable experience.
Urgup is a lovely former Greek village, once known as Assiana. Most of the attractions are based around Cumhuriyet Meydani - or town square, with an interesting museum displaying many antique ceramics, statues and textiles, and with the local wineries, shops and restaurants. There is plenty to keep you occupied if you can lure yourself away from the glorious haven that is the Sacred House.
