This impressive villa is actually the result of the sympathetic restoration of an old house. The English owners, Jim & Ian, have appropriately named this elegant villa Mavi Su or blue water. With genuinely breathtaking views of Kalkan Bay and the Old Town, it certainly lives up to its name. When you can take your eyes off the turquoise water, the first thing you notice is the blue-tiled infinity pool, surrounded by a cool white terrace equipped with a professional looking outdoor barbecue.
The interior is as high-quality as you would expect from first impressions. The living area on the ground floor is spacious, light and airy, with white marbled floors, light-coloured furniture and clear glass chandeliers. There are two outside dining areas and another indoors, as well as a beautifully appointed kitchen with a separate utility room at the rear.
As you follow the stairs up through the various levels of the villa, each floor brings another surprise. Each of the double bedrooms has its own capacious terrace or balcony, as well as an en suite bathroom. The twin room at the rear may have missed out on outside space, but it more than makes up for it with its own private sunken bath. The first floor master bedroom boasts two balconies, one looking out to sea and the other overlooking the pool and beyond to Kalkan Bay. Even its en suite Jacuzzi bath has sea views.
With undisturbed vistas right down to the water and only a 10 minute sea view walk to the Old Town. Mavi Su doesn’t feel like a rental villa, it feels like a home. It’s one of Kalkan’s most liveable properties and will be much in demand.
