The Mediteran apartments makes the best of its most fabulous asset by framing it with an infinity pool that seems to continue flowing right out into the bay. By day or by night, this one’s a show-stopper.
All of the beautifully-appointed apartments at this property have terraces or balconies with sea views. The style is simple and modern throughout, from the double bedrooms to the sitting rooms with sofa bed, kitchenette and shower room. Small, individual touches like Miro and Picasso-style artwork and mosaic lamps give the rooms character and colour.
Owner Ahmet and his team have created the perfect blend of self-catering and hotel services here, as the restaurant serves a very high standard of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, either al fresco beside the pool or in a covered terrace area above. A lower terrace with Turkish day-beds known as kösks, is ideal if you want to relax and take in the sun lounging on cushions in a four-poster swathed with sheer curtains – doesn’t that just sound like bliss?
From the Mediteran’s lofty perch over the town, it can be quite a challenging walk down the hill, so courtesy buses run several times throughout the day in season to the centre of Kalkan. Local beach clubs arrange complimentary transfers when you’ve had your fill of simply looking at the bay or dipping your toes in it.
The panoramic views from the Mediteran terraces will mesmerise you. The accommodation is tasteful and the restaurant is good enough to warrant the hike up the mountain even if you’re not staying there. This is the property of choice for guests who value a beautiful locale and high standards of service.
